Shaun Lahey

Director of HSEQ, HR & IT

Shaun is a proven leader with over a decade of experience in driving health, safety, environment, quality, and operational support initiatives. He brings a creative, people-first perspective to traditional compliance and safety systems, ensuring that they not only meet regulatory demands but also foster meaningful improvements across the business. Shaun believes that true success goes beyond merely preventing incidents; it lies in creating the conditions for great work to happen and that the true measure of performance includes safe and compliant operations, satisfied team members, and quality outcomes that exceed customer expectations.

Since 2022, Shaun has served as the Director of HSEQ, HR, & IT at Team Viking, where he champions an integrated, modern approach to leadership rooted in trust, accountability, and continuous improvement. He holds university-level certification in Occupational Health and Safety and is committed to lifelong learning, constantly evolving, and challenging conventional thinking. Known for simplifying complexity and questioning the status quo, Shaun’s work is characterized by integrity, curiosity, and a deep commitment to helping the organization and our stakeholders thrive.

Jared Van Laar

Manager Innovation & Growth

Jared Van Laar brings over 20 years of experience in Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), construction, commissioning, and maintenance across diverse industries including SAGD, open-pit mining, and petroleum. Beginning his career in the electrical trade, Jared has continually expanded his technical knowledge, earning his Certified Technician (C.Tech) designation and completing his 4th-year instrumentation training.

Throughout his career, Jared has developed a deep understanding of both facility operations and project execution. His broad experience spans the full lifecycle of industrial infrastructure—from design and build to startup and maintenance—making him a valuable asset in optimizing processes and ensuring safe, reliable operations.

In March 2025, Jared joined Team Viking to support the organization’s growth and innovation efforts. His hands-on approach and industry insight contribute to advancing high-performance standards and operational excellence within the company.Outside of work, Jared enjoys spending quality time with his family in the great outdoors. He can often be found camping, exercising, or bike riding—activities that reflect his passion for balance, energy, and resilience both professionally and personally.

James Obsorne

Operations Manager Tank Cleaning

With over a decade of hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry, James Osborne brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to Team Viking’s Tank Cleaning Division. He began his career in upstream operations with Precision Drilling, where he advanced into a role auditing internal operating systems, gaining deep insights into operational efficiencies and compliance. Transitioning into the industrial tank cleaning sector, James joined a company specializing exclusively in industrial tank cleaning. Starting as a quality manager, he quickly rose to become the Senior Project Manager, overseeing the planning and execution of all field operations. In this capacity, he led major projects, spearheaded operational expansion into the U.S market, and served as the Subject Matter Expert for front-end planning in cooperation with client operation teams and engineering disciplines.

Today, James leverages his comprehensive industry experience to lead Team Viking’s newest division, focusing on delivering innovative, safe, and high-quality tank cleaning solutions. His commitment to professionalism and operational excellence ensures that our clients receive services that meet the highest standards in the industry.

Outside of work, James values his time spent with his wife Caylie and two children Sadie & Brooks. However, when his family and work commitments allow for it, he can be found glued to the TV watching his 2023 National Champion Michigan Wolverines take to the gridiron every Saturday in the Fall. Tyler Gordon

Operations Manager Industrial Cleaning

Tyler Gordon brings a strong foundation in industrial operations, having grown up immersed in the oil and gas industry. He holds a diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology from NAIT and has applied that expertise throughout his career. Since joining Team Viking in early 2021, Tyler has progressed from hands-on field work to leading as Operations Manager of both the Industrial Chemical Cleaning (CIP) & Fluid hauling (PV)  Division.

Tyler is known for his devotion, operational insight, and team-first leadership style. His journey reflects a deep understanding of field realities paired with strategic oversight. When he’s not coordinating projects or managing logistics, Tyler enjoys camping in the summer, hitting the slopes for ski trips in the winter, and tackling home renovation projects year-round.

Ryan Bloomer

Project Manager

Ryan Bloomer brings more than 18 years of specialized experience in the industrial cleaning sector to his role as Project Manager. His expertise includes high-pressure water jetting and aerial cooler cleaning—critical services that support the performance and reliability of industrial systems.

Earlier in his career, Ryan served as a Nitrogen Coordinator, managing nitrogen applications with a strong emphasis on safety and process control. This background gives him a well-rounded perspective on operational planning and execution.

Over the past 15 years, Ryan has led teams in various management roles, overseeing complex field operations and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, on budget and to the highest standards. His leadership is defined by hands-on experience, a strong safety-first mindset, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Joining the team in September 2024, Ryan brings his deep industry knowledge and commitment to operational excellence making him a key leader in driving client success and supporting the company’s mission.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending quality time with his wife, 5 children and two dogs. Extra curriculars include hockey, golf, hiking and backyard games.
